ARTIST'S
STATEMENT
What started as an intellectual challenge in my retirement (learning a new skill – Chinese brush painting) has deepened and developed through my practice of calligraphy and painting as a transcendent experience. It focuses the senses, resulting in a centering, highly satisfying artistic expression.
In an era of rapid technological growth and obsolescence, studying and practicing these ancient techniques offers a stabilizing link in the continuum
of life.
