BIO
Long Island resident, part time artist, and a practicing physician who grew up in South East Asia and always been interested in drawing and oriental arts since childhood. Interest in Sumie Style paintings began in 1976 after reading the books of Diana Kan and Alisson Stilwell Camerson and in 1979 took basic courses with Mitsuko Bickham, sumie artist and calligrapher. I stopped painting in 1985 but renewed my interest in 2002 and began painting again. I am a member of the Long Island and Metro NY sumie society chapters; also recently joined the South Shore artist association of Long Island(multi media group). Currently, I am studying under Sensei Hoho Yamamoto of the Koho Sumie School, Manhattan N.Y.
