Born in Moscow, Russia, Katia Simonova received classic training in drawing and watercolor with Samuel Lindin, well-known Russian artist. She worked as a graphic designer and a computer artist in Moscow and New York. Certification in Floral Design from Parsons School of Design, including Ikebana, led her to exploration of different forms of Japanese art. Studies of Oriental culture complemented Katia's experience with watercolor and resulted in mastering sumi-e under the guidance of Sensei Koho Yamamoto (Koho Sumi-e School, New York).
Katia's works are in galleries and private collections in USA and Russia.
