In Kwon Kim
This remarkable woman is a brilliant painter and an extremely generous teacher.  She is the recipient of many prizes and honors both in the U.S. and in Korea.  Her style is a felicitous blend of modern and traditional.  She is a literati painter - one of the best. Her classes are extremely popular and people come from miles around just to work with her.  Her next series begins around April 4th. They normally run about 8 weeks and the tuition is modest.
In Kim conducts courses at CW Post/Long Island University located at 720 Northern Blvd in Brookville, New York. Interested people should contact CSW Post at 516-299-2580 for her schedule and to register.

Gan Yu
Gan Yu is the kind of teacher one rarely encounters.  His
passion for his art and for the art of teaching is unparalleled.  He has a large following in New York, Long Island and upper New York State. And his workshops are in great demand.   Any opportunity to study with him should be grasped.  He currently gives workshops under the auspices of the Long Island chapter of the Sumi-e Society as well as Oriental Brush Artists Guild in Connecticut.  Recently, at the
Hammond Museum in North Salem, NY Gan Yu had a generational exhibit of his work and that of his father who is a professor of art in Shanghai. It  was widely acclaimed both in the US and in China.
Interested members should contact the President of the Long Island chapter, Altina Vergata at vergata@optonline.net to discuss opportunities to study with Gan Yu.
